Canary Mourns Passing One of Canary Club's dear friends and regular patron, especially on Karaoke night passed away on November 25, 2008. She was known fondly among her friends as "Miss Pat." Read more in Canary Club Happenings inside. Canary recently lost a good friend with the passing of Patricia Griffin, known as Miss Pat, to most of Canary's patrons. Patricia was a regular Karaoke singer, another Patsy Cline. Her signature song was "Crazy." She was an avid fan of Keith Gilley, often driving many miles to join him after he left the Canary Club a year ago. Now she's singing with the angels! Her many friends in the club will miss her very much. The Convertibles band has become very popular here and will return a couple of more times in December including New Year's Eve, Dec. 31. Plan now for a great year-end party. Since the election, producers in Hollywood say that America is now ready for a black James Bond and a black Wonder Woman and may even be ready for a black Michael Jackson.

NOTICE Canary's annual holiday dinner is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2008. The big news in this issue is Canary’s Annual Holiday Dinner on Thursday, December 11. Connie prepares ham and turkey and dressing fit for a king. There’s plenty of side dishes to round out a traditional holiday dinner. Those who wish to are welcome to bring side dishes or desserts. Food serving starts about 6 p.m. Everyone welcome. . Where do you Live? About 50% of all Americans live within 50 miles of their birthplace. This is called propinquity. |

A young man who comes to the club often and also bar hops from here to Hwy. 90 and to Crosby was asked how the Canary compares to other clubs he frequents, including one large club just this side of Crosby. "Canary tops them all," was his answer. . Connie and Soyla are having a joint birthday party Saturday, Dec. 20. Plans are still in the making for this event. A mariachi band usually comes for an hour or so. Don't miss it! |

| November was truly an exciting month at the Canary Club. The Joe Valentino Show who has been a crowd pleaser for many years was sensational. The True Country Band and Johnny and the Heartbreakers kepted up the pace with their fine entertainment. Don't forget the Canary Club annual holiday dinner on Thursday, December 11th.
